How much does it cost to have a wedding at the Berry Farm?
Our current rate is $6000.  This includes use of the property for 2.5 days use, $1000 worth of wedding coordinator services, and many items and services we would be glad to discuss when you visit us.

Why is the rental for 2.5 days?
A typical wedding here requires ½ -1 day to set up and ½ day to take down.  This includes tables, chairs, lights and decorations.  We think that this timeline allows for a more leisurely pace and hopefully a stress-free experience.

Is there a single day rental available?
We do rent the property for one day private parties or corporate events where there is minimal decoration and the event day is fewer hours.  However, due to the complexity of weddings along with the wedding day typically lasting 12 hours, we have learned it is best to plan for 2.5 days. Over the last 3 years, every wedding party has told us they have appreciated having this time.

What time can we be on the property?
Times on the property vary on an event by event basis.  In general our policy is:

  • Setup Day -  9am to 6pm
  • Wedding Day – 9am to 10pm
  • Cleanup Day – 9am to 12 noon

What items does the venue include?
We provide the following at no extra charge:

  • 6 old style farm tables that can seat 8-10 each
  • 2 other farm tables for gifts, décor, etc.
  • Dance floor that accommodates  30-40 couples which is adequate for up to 200 guests
  • Rustic Bar on large wheels – easily placed anywhere
  • An old carriage and work wagon
  • Milk cans, old doors and wagon wheels
  • Restroom – full bathroom for women and physically challenged guests
  • 3 portable restrooms – 2 with flushable toilets and sinks,  1 that is wheelchair accessible

What is not included with the venue?

  • Catering or kitchen facilities
  • Guest tables and chairs
  • Decorator lights or other decorations

Do I have to use a particular caterer or vendor for tables, chairs, decorations or photography?
No.  We have a list of preferred vendors who have worked successfully at our farm in the past.  If you have a different vendor that you would like to use, we need to know in advance so that we can verify their business license and insurance.

Can we have a “self-serve” bar?
You may provide the alcohol, but we require that it be served by a professional bartender.  Most catering companies can offer this service as part of their package.

When does the party have to end?
Per Douglas county regulations, amplified music must be off by 9:30pm.  Guests and wedding party depart at 10:00 p.m. and vendors leave by 11:00 p.m.

Are there dressing rooms on the property?
We have 4 rooms upstairs in our 120 year old Victorian farmhouse for the bride and bridesmaids to use before the wedding.  We also offer 2 rooms downstairs for the groom and groomsmen to use before the ceremony.  If you prefer, there is a 2 room bunkhouse available for the groomsmen.

What is the maximum number of guests that we can have?
Our maximum for attendance is 200, which includes guests and wedding party.

We love the idea of an outdoor wedding, but are concerned about bad weather.  What options do you have to protect our guests?
Our circa 1890 barn is large enough to shelter 100-150 people.  If your wedding will have more than that, you probably want to consider renting a party tent.

Can we have our dog in the wedding?  Our horse?
We are very dog-friendly and only ask that you bring your dog over to the farm to get acquainted with us, our 2 dogs and the property beforehand.  We also suggest that you ask someone take your pooch home or to a dog sitter after the ceremony.  Regarding your horse being a part of your special day, we’d like to work with you on how to make that work.
